China's persecution of the Falun Gong religious organization has been in the international news for years, but less well known is the officially sanctioned rape of Falun Gong women. The CCP justifies this persecution by claiming that Falun Gong is a subversive cult. In response, Falun Gong members invariably defend themselves by claiming that their teachings are peaceful and apolitical. But with regards to the persecution meted out by Chinese authorities, I don't think the legitimacy of Falun Gong should be the point. Even *IF* Falun Gong is a cult, and its members misguided, does it justify the gang rape, torture and murder of Falun Gong members? Even if Falun Gong members are criminals (which is highly debatable), they still have rights as human beings.
I'm not a Falun Gong member, I don't have any affinity for their teachings, nor do I have any personal grievance against the Chinese Communist Party, and I still cannot find any way to justify a regime that sanctions and covers up brutal rapes against its citizens (and non-violent citizens at that).
U.Y.Two Female Falun Gong Practitioners Raped by Chinese Police:
...They also made her squat with her arms stretched out in front of her chest. Next they began to beat her with stun batons and rubber clubs. Then the police forced her to slightly stand up with her knees, causing her to collapse to the ground. After repeated torture and beatings, Ms. Liu's hips, thighs, and many areas on her body were severely bruised and injured... He Xuejian ignored her plea and violently raped her. During the rape, He Xuejian repeatedly slapped her face and choked her.
...During the two consecutive rapes, the young policeman nicknamed Dajun did nothing... he watched He Xuejian rape the two female Falun Gong practitioners. He did not say anything, nor did he try to stop the rapes.
... Since the CCP started the crackdown on Falun Gong in July 1999, there have been numerous cases of female Falun Gong practitioners reported raped and abused. The Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province was infamous for stripping 18 female Falun Gong practitioners naked and throwing them into a men's cell. After the gang rape, the authority not only denied its crime, but also took many measures to conceal its crimes and eliminate the evidence.
... In the evening of May 13, the police took Wei to a room in the Baihelin detention center and ordered two female inmates to strip off all her clothes... Then a police officer in uniform came into the room and pushed Wei Xingyan to the ground and raped her in front of the two inmates. Wei Xingyan sternly warned the police, "I have seen your police badge number. You won't get away with this." After the assault, Wei Xingyan went on a hunger strike to protest. The police officers badly damaged both her trachea and esophagus while force-feeding her. As a result of this, she was unable to talk...
Based on the investigation, the policeman who raped Wei Xingyan and other police officiers who were aware of this incident have recently been transferred to the Yongchuan prison from their original positions in the Baihelin detention center. Based on the investigation, the policeman who raped Wei Xingyan and other police officiers who were aware of this incident have recently been transferred to the Yongchuan prison from their original positions in the Baihelin detention center. Other policemen from the Shaqu "610 Office" who were involved in arresting Wei Xingyan were also transferred to other places to avoid external inquiries... At the same time, according to the information obtained from other sources, when Wei Xingyan's circumstances were exposed, the Chongqing municipal government and the "610 Office", on one hand, blocked all files and information about her university major in Chongqing University, and on the other hand, said: "Wei Xingyan has already been picked up by her family members." It was confirmed later that Wei Xingyan had not gone home at all. It is likely that Wei Xingyan was transferred to another place for further persecution.
