A Chinese American Sunday School teacher invited me to visit his church. He was originally from Hong Kong. After he finished teaching class, we left the church to go to lunch at a nearby Vietnamese restaurant. There, he said, "This is a black neighborhood. Only the Vietnamese can survive here."
We had just stepped out of church 4 minutes ago! There were black and Vietnamese diners in the restaurant. I never went back to the church again. That man proved to be very bigoted and opinionated, not only towards blacks and Vietnamese, but also other minorities. I later noticed he was very obsequious towards whites, always friendly, animated, smiling and gesticulating.
