Korean American snubbed in Japan

A Korean American male who worked in Japan during the 1980s recounted how people would be enthusiastic when they first talked to him because they thought he was Japanese American. When they found out he was Korean, they politely excused themselves and left. This happened so often that at the end of his stay there, he was severely depressed.
