Yukie Adams - from Hokkaido to Alaska

Yukie Adams, a native of Japan, married into the Tlingit culture of the northwest coast of North America when she wedded Henry Adams, a member of the Tlingit people in Alaska. Yukie Adams, who had previously studied painting and art history in Tokyo, applied herself to learning the art of her adopted community. She has created many paintings, serigraphs and carvings combining traditional Northwest Coast motifs with modern influences.
